New web server and features

RisingNet adding a new server for Web Hosting to improve our services for all web hosting clients. Our new server which has a control panel enabled, that will allow users to manage their web server. This control pannel has many new features and options that will convinience new and old web hosting users alike. A few of the new features are: MS FrontPage, Apache ASP, WebMail, IMAP and many more. We are offering more features for your web hosting account for the same price.

Moved Internet backbone

RisingNet has moved Internet backbone once again. Now on the Sprintlink backbone with a full 1.5mb/s connection. Sprintlink has over 180 self-healing SONET rings supporting a blazing OC-48 backbone. Also a new firewall has been installed to combat DoS Attacks (Denial of Servie Attacks) against our servers.

New Unix Shell Server

RisingNet has installed there new shell server. This robust server is a Pentium 3 550mhz with over 1 gig of ram. With one 9.1gig hard disk and expansion slots for more this server will move us into the future. Current OS: FreeBSD-4.x

Custom VHOSTS for UNIX shell

RisingNet has given all there unix shell account users their own custom vHost, therefor each user will have their own IP address. The custom vHost can be created on the RisingNet.net domain or on there own domain (extra $35 internic charge/year). We have installed this feature to avoid bot clones on IRC as well as avoid abuse. We would like to provide you with better service then others. Please drop us a line if you have any suggestions.

Extra Bandwidth

RisingNet has installed the new Internet connection to better the service of all there hosting clients. The 1.5mb/s connection is a T3 line supplied by the Concentric backbone. RisingNet will supply equal speed to all of it's users and will make sure they have the same speed, stability and reliable connection to the Internet they have come to expect from RisingNet. We will monitor our bandwidth and upgrade the server and connection if we think that more speed is needed. RisingNet is here to make your web site be online 24/7.
